

Persona - Magazine
Objective
To create and design a magazine consisting of a word-mark identity, cover, table of contents, and 2 articles. The magazine “Persona” is a weekly art and technology publication exploring different character design aspects in video games. This week’s focus is on miHoYo’s Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail.
Wordmark
Initially, when I started working on the wordmark, I couldn’t decide if I wanted it to look technological or fun and bubbly. While exploring both options I ended up being drawn to a typeface I found where the “e” looked like Pacman. I stuck with that initially, but after putting together the rest of the magazine I felt the wordmark didn’t match, so went back and revisited my other ideations.

Article Spreads Process
I knew I wanted to feature images of the characters talked about in the articles on the spreads, it was just a matter of finding the right images, and figuring out what other visual elements to include. Eventually, I was able to find other imagery that was associated with each of the characters, whether it was part of their attack animations or imagery that was from an event specific to that character. Once I was able to figure that out everything else fell into place.
